Dad, if Only...

Blessed be the dad
Who is present...
If even
In heart and spirit!

Blessed be the dad
Who is not...
If only
Because of the call of duty!

Evolving Designs!

 Child with a kaleidoscope

I see a desolate child
with a kaleidoscope
Crying rains as he watches
Flooding the evolving designs - sadly
Spooling in violence and ego
Every color piercing another
Each moment in destruction!

A Haiku for Deloras Lucas

She was our friend-in-faith and for the last two years
she had inspired us, her FaithWriter friends,
smiling big through her painful ordeal
strong in her faith and heavenly GOD!

Deloras, we'll miss YOU!

I must also thank Janice Keck, my late friend
Who was key in getting me started
Onto the Haiku track...
Which helps simplify my sadness!

Flamboyant Flames: Fall 2011

This year the fall colors were flamboyant as never before...

We did not have to go to Natchez trace or Ozark mountains to see the fall's kaleido display. It was right outside our door step... every neighborhood and street looked a notch better than the other. It was a magical gala... thrown for thousand Cinderellas!

Memories of Childhood Bliss!

Hello! Your voice rings…

After decades—over the phone,

I hear—from continents apart. Our

Kids are older than we were

When we saw last, but

The grade-school lunch of potatoes

You shared, smells appetizingly fresh

Of childhood bliss—from wherever

The memories are held!

A Tribute to Janice Elaine Keck

Janice, had been such an energetic and motivating person it is hard to assimilate the fact. She was like a lantern atop the hill for Williamson County---reached the community and people of all ages. Can't believe that ever welcoming warmth and smile is no more!

She lived like a flame kindling others hearts and aspirations. Like a flame she was swept away so suddenly and swiftly...
Thinking of Janice!

Of light atop the mountain---

Flame swept silently away

And up to heavens...

-A Poetry Tribute to Janice Keck by VeerajaR

But, Williamson county and the people of all ages, race and ethnicity whom she has touched with her service will continue to reap the benefits--gifts of her great soul! We may have lost a friend on earth, but gained an angel in heaven to lookout for us and our writer/artist aspirations and achievements!

Haiku: Lambardi is going home!

Haiku is a Japanese form of Poetry with a three line 5,7,5 syllables. It's a condensed form of poetry, second only to the two line versus of "Thirukural" in Thamil.

In Thirukural, a lot of facts, comparisons, contrasts, and meanings are packed firmly and beautifully within two rhyming lines. But, rhyming has no importance in Haiku. It is the rhythm. What is not said and left for the reader to extrapolate or fill in--is part of the beauty of Haiku.

Being from WI and a longtime Packer fan, I am celebrating today's victory game with a Haiku of my own:

Cheese melts steel ball-

Lambardi is going home

Super Bowl XLV!

For the first time, I joined my family to watch the game with Packer Backers Franklin. It turned out to be a lucky day for all Greenbay Packers' fans!

In The Grand Scheme III

Sit still silently.
Listening... to your heart-beat
Slowly breathing in and out
Focusing in... on
The nothingness of 'I'
The enormity and beauty of life,
The forever 'Now' and emerge
Feeling the bliss of your role
In the grand scheme of GOD!!!

Part II: In The Grand Scheme...

Nothing is coincidence...
An accident or mastery
Of mere human
Intelligence, logic
Or careful planning.
For after all that
Genius brainstorming
We lie helpless...
Food for tiniest beings!

P.S._ Have you read the book "Genesis Code" by John Case?
Having been a Scientist and of Catholic faith, I thought the story was written marvelously. Excellent weaving of scientific facts with a religious twist to the story plot. Once I started reading I could not put it down; if I put it down I could not wait to get back to it. The ending was very cute!!!

In The Grand Scheme...

Listening to instinct,
The little true voice--
That speaks to you--
Turning around...
You may find yourself
Walking into a banquet
An expected guest, only
You didn't know--
Your GOD's within you!

FROM THE VERY BEGINNING!

FROM...
THE VASTNESS OF NOTHING

HE...
WHO MADE EVERYTHING

IS WHOM...
OUR SOULS KEEP YEARNING

TO BE WITH-
FROM THE VERY BEGINNING!

Present at Christmas!

Present at Christmas!

Christmas is near
Chores abound to bare
Greetings to be mailed
Ginger bread & candies made
Presents bought in spree- and
Placed under the tree!

What would you
Want for Christmas?
Plenty of Gold... A
Planet. A star?
Wrapped, trimmed and
Placed under the tree?

Christmas is here-but
All I want Dear... is
YOU be Present home
Warming your mother's
Heart, while presents are
Placed under the tree!

What more would I...
Want for Christmas?
A star... of course
A shining ray from- The
Prince of Peace
Placed in my heart!

Cauldrons of Blazing Fire

Cauldrons of blazing fire...
May burn beneath fiercely,
At every step a leader takes...
What a lasting history it makes!

As a leader melts to the core...
Sees visions as never before-
Churning each atom to mold,
Beams... anew- bright as gold!

Sun Sets Only to Rise

Sun sets on the horizon...
only to rise
Brighter than ever- the

very next morning!
Such is a true leader...
even to demise
Mightier than ever-by
misery thwarted, rejoicing!

History in the Making

Uphold... A dream did missionary
Martin Luther King, that
Unfold in history this very... Day. A
Mighty story so...very real, breaking
Boundaries of race; missing no color
Bound in unison-the people
Roared on, cheering... O'bama!
Soared high... a Blessed nation-Be
Holding equality at its peak, for
Whole world to see...in
Our new president of
America-United States, the
Promised land... above the hill-as
Proclaimed by visionary King's will!

At Heaven's Edge

Winter's Mirage

Fluffy snow fluttering like
White confetti, Pine
Bluffs silhouette like Angels
Blanketed in soft crystals
Shuffled are the horizons
Seams all broken
Ruffled in winter’s mirage
R’ Earth and heaven’s edge

- Poetry by VeeraMahal Franklin
