Poetry & Tamil!

When my toddler son, trying to sharpen his vocabulary, uttered the words "Caashoo" for cash at the cashiers counter it struck me that the word 'cash' might have originated from the thamil word "Caasu" -- which also means money!

Very recently my husband teased me about me being a poet - who makes "poetry." My friend and I were amazed at his ingenious thought process. He said POETRY= "POI" (means LIE in Thamil) + "EyATRY" (means CREATE in Thamil) = CREATE LIES!

We all laughed, because POETRY is of course kind of like creating a bunch of flowers from one flower or even just a petal. Poetry... with its magical run on words can make you see or feel something more, something not exactly real or even something not tangible!  Thus, you could say it is an art of creating lies...

I am thankful for my husband, his wit & humor and also my wonderful kids, family and friends who make me laugh and enjoy life to its fullest!

P.S. Thanks to my friend who sent me this link (PLEASE, see below) to an extremely interesting, thought provoking language research which ultimately reaffirms that we are all one and the same regardless of continent, country, time/generation or other differences...

This video discusses Jesus's last words on the cross "Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabac-tha-ni" (Mark) are actually of "Thamil" language.
