I was told

By my Grandma

the high Calcium& Iron 

in the Finger Millet (Kurakkan)

was the reason 

for the  long & Healthy life

of our tamil ancestors

who had many indegenous 

healthy Breakfast items

made out of Grains

and consumed them

daily!

Garden thrived 

without the gardener

like a forest

seeds that fell last year

burgeoned.....

As we tend

to our new grand baby

and life's timely demands

the passion found

its way through

the hotchilies & curry 

leaves' hardystems to shoot

purple blooms for the bumble bees

The long beans smile carefreeand purple 

to yield their slender pods 

entwined by the redness of hearts 

the leaves that purple yams proudly display

their ridged stems reach upwards

gracefully like the delicate hands 

of a twirling balerina 

The Roses of sharon applaude 

from their luxury booth under the shade

dressed in their layers of chiffons!

- 4 Prevention of Non-Communicable Chronic Diseases

1. Pulling the Ears down - Stimulate Lymphatic pumps near face. back of head

2. Cycling /Circling the Ears - As above

3. Shoulder Pump - Pull Up to the head & Move shoulders in Circles

to Stimulate Lymphaic pumps in the neck

4. Kabhalapatti Pranayam - Breath in to stomach  & Push out Air in bouts with Force

                            Stimulates the Diaphragm Lymphatic Pumps 

5. Agnisara - Hold the breath and psh in several short bouts 

                                 Pump as above

6. Calf Pump - Stand on Tippy Toes & then on heel. REPEAT! Strong pump is calf muscle & needs Walk/movement of muscles to pump upwards against gravity!

budding out to the songs of the backyard birds

and I bloom 

to the joy of the bees

that bumble and frolick with joy

to yield 

for you my tending hosts

a bounty of fruits

to strengthen your Hearts
